Eating my vegetables.

If you know me, and chances are if you are on my blog you do - you know how much I love the old Disney shorts. I've been doing something I call "eating my vegetables" and doing a daily hour of still framing and studying from the cartoons chronologically from 1940 on. I love studying these master works! These mickey's and cats are studies from  the 1941 cartoon "Lend a Paw". I love how oval they can make his head to push the expression.

 

This next page is not from study per se, but from me trying to draw in the Kirby style. My sketchbook is an odd mix of  life drawing, classic cartoons and then comic book stuff. I guess my tastes haven't changed much since childhood.
